The loon is in the same area 36th St and E. Calhoun Parkway. It is trying
to feed in 6 inches of water by bobbing his head. At shore he sometimes
propels himself 3-4 feet in very shallow water. He is otherwise just
floating and sleeping all day. He does not dive. It appears his right leg
or foot is injured.

I called DNR and have not received any feedback.

The Wildlife Rehab does not pick up birds but they will care for him if he
can be brought in. I don't think at this time he would be easy or safe to
catch. It has been two days with very little for him to eat so he may be
easier to catch as he continues to weaken. If someone has a small boat and
heavy duty net a rescue might be possible.

I will continue to monitor his progress.
