The loon appears to be gaining strength and I will continue to monitor him.
He was still feeding at the shore and he wasn't diving much but when he did
he appeared to stay under for a longer period of time--several seconds.
This is a major change from yesterday when when he was inactive most of the
time and seemed to expend a lot of energy to keep from being washed to the
shore.

A group called *Wildlife Intensive & Critical Care* which is a permitted
DNR wildlife rehabilitator came out today to check him out and offered to
capture him if he needs help in the future. Check out their website--great
people.

I did leave messages with the Minneapolis DNR officer but I never heard
from him.

It was great to hear from all the people who wrote with their ideas for
helping him.
