Hi All—

On Wednesday, John Holden and I saw the Swainson’s Hawk recently reported
by Gerry Hoekstra in Rice County. Initially the bird was perched on
telephone wires by County Road 1, about one mile east of I-35. The bird
flew up to the top of a huge oak tree further down the highway. I was able
to take a poor, but confirming photograph, which is on my blog this
morning: http://dantallmansbirdblog.blogspot.com

Apparently this hawk has been in the vicinity most of the summer.
