The RS Hawks that have nested in the nature area behind our home for many years
failed in their first nesting attempt this spring. However, they moved to a
different part of the nature area and successfully fledged one very noisy
youngster who is rather clumsily prowling the area. My wife snapped some very
good pictures the other day of the juvenile perched on top of one of our
feeders. I was very disappointed when the first nest site failed, but they
never left the area, so I suspected they were attempting to nest again. I had
been hearing the juvenile for the last several weeks, so it was very nice to
have it visit us.
