Hi All—

On Saturday, Erika and I photographed a Baird’s Sandpiper at the Jirik Sod
Farm in Dakota County. It behaved as though it was defending feeding
territory, gaping and wing raising. Feeding are known for migrating
shorebirds. The only other shorebirds nearby, however, were a single
Short-billed Dowitchers and a few Killdeer. Photos of the Baird’s Sandpiper
are on my blog this morning: http://dantallmansbirdblog.blogspot.com
