Small mixed flocks of shorebirds have been reliably present this spring and summer at a horse pasture pond on the west side of Lansing Avenue a little south of the Gateway Trail. Viewing is good from Lansing in the vicinity of mailbox 9750. You can usually count on seeing Canada geese, sandhill cranes and a few ducks there too.
