Hi All,

I wandered around far southwest Minnesota this afternoon. Birding was pretty
slow overall and much of my time was spent exploring Nobles and Rock County.
Fall migration continues on, with much of the sparrow diversity thinning out
from previous visits. An influx of Purple Finches was apparent overall and I
had my first nice collection of waterfowl this evening. Of note was a vocal
flyover BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER at Lake Bella in Nobles Co., lingering SEDGE WREN
and FIELD SPARROW singles at Blue Mounds State Park in Rock Co., and 14 species
of waterfowl at South Heron Lake in Jackson Co., along with a single Common
Loon, 9 species of sparrows (including 1 Le Conte's), and 2 Tree Swallows, the
first I've seen in some time.
