An absolutely gorgeous day to be out, although the birding at South Heron Lake in Jackson Co. was pretty uneventful over the lunch hour. 2 Western Grebes were the only highlights in some extended time scoping the lake. 12 species of waterfowl and tons of Coots, with single Common Loon and Horned Grebe.
Needless to say, I won't be scoping in shorts and a tshirt with temps in the mid 70s too often in November.
