SAX-ZIM BOG WINTER RAPTORS FIELD TRIP
Saturday Nov 19, 8am-Noonish.

Colorful winter finches often get lots of attention from visitors to the Bog in 
the winter months, but finches are not the only winter visitors to see! Join us 
for a field trip looking for winter predators, such as Northern Shrikes, 
Rough-legged Hawks, and other raptors. Learn about the natural history of these 
fascinating predators. 
Head Naturalist Clinton Nienhaus will lead this carpool field trip around the 
Bog.

Meet at the Welcome Center by 8:00 am Saturday the 19th. Plan on scouring the 
bog until 12:00 noon
(Winter species have already returned to the Bog....including White-winged 
Crossbills, Snow Buntings, Rough-legged Hawks, Northern Shrike, redpolls, PIne 
Grosbeaks)

donated $20 or more in the last 12 months. $20 for others (this includes a 
one-year membership and free attendance at other field trips)
