(Posted by Jason Frank <[email protected]> via moumn.org) The resident pair of Bald Eagles at Farrell WPA/Sweetwater just south of County Road 12 in Lac qui Parle County are either laying or incubating. Their nest is in a cottonwood and is visible through a scope from County Road 9, due south of Bolland Slough.
Small numbers of Canada Geese began moving in to Yellow Medicine and Lac qui Parle Counties on Monday, February 13. They are claiming nest sites on the marshes of Sioux Nation WMA a few miles southwest of Canby. This morning I saw a small flock of Common Mergansers moving north through Yellow Medicine County. I had a Brown Creeper on an ash tree in the yard on February 14.
