With the change of weather, some educational, indoor birding might be appropriate. This weekend, Carpenter Nature Center (12805 St. Croix Trail, Hastings) will host the annual "Masters of the Sky " program on Saturday and Sunday. There are 3 one-hour presentations each day, starting at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00. Tickets are $10 (or $7 for 'Friends of CNC'). Reservations are required; call 651-437-4359. This is an excellent program featuring the staff of the World Bird Sanctuary from St. Louis, Missouri, and a large selection of their birds from around the world.
