It was a cold day up here. I think our high was 11 degrees with a good breeze.
I spotted both of these species in the middle of the day and both were very
busy searching for food. Both birds were males and found quite close
together. Location was along Johnson Rd. approx 7.5 miles east of Cook in St
Louis Co. They were off the road a bit. The ditches are still frozen so I was
able to cross easily. When they melt one would need some pretty high boots to
cross. Sounds like that melt may be coming soon.
