I returned to the site today at mid day. Walked along the road as well as back in a little but not a single woodpecker heard or seen. There were other tamarack and black spruce trees in the area that had bark flakes on the ground surrounding them. I did see 2 Boreal Chickadees a small flock of White-winged Crossbills and a pair of Gray Jays.
