I reported having seen this bird along the Johnson Road east of Cook, MN on
the 2nd of March. I also said it was about 7.5 miles east of town. It was
brought to my attention by a friend that I was off on the mileage by quite a
bit. I went out there again today and relocated the bird. That is the "good"
news. The "bad" news is that, yes, I was off on the mileage. It is more like
4.3 miles east of town. I am VERY sorry if anyone came and went too far along
that road. I do take time be careful before I post but I sure blew it this
time. Today I measured from the time I was at the railroad tracks that cross
Johnson Rd just after you get on it off of HWY 53 on the south side of town.
There is one more bit of "good “ news and that is the male I saw has a female
friend. I saw her after some looking today. He did some drumming and she
vocalized back to him and later flew over to him.

Again, I am very sorry if someone drove all the way up here and missed this
because of me.
