This afternoon, 17 April 2017, Erika and I found an Orange-crowned Warbler
at the western unit of the Cannon River Wilderness Area in Rice County. It
fed in the tangles near the ground. The bird appears to be eating a small
beetle in the photograph in our eBird checklist:

eBird flagged this warbler as rare and, although shy of the earliest MN
record ever, it is among the earliest.
