Hello Osprey Lady

I was referred to you by Roslynn Long of the MOU.

You probably already know about nesting ospreys in Roseville Central Park, on the outfield lights between the two eastern-most baseball fields east of Victoria. This is apparently a new nest. I'm sure I would have noticed them last year, myself.

I e-mailed Roseville Parks and Recreation saying that I think nesting ospreys are as much an asset as functional baseball lighting and hoping that they wouldn't turn them on until any successful nesting has completed.

My questions:

Is the osprey a "species of concern" in Minnesota?

Does this nesting pair have any "rights" from the State of Minnesota being a relatively uncommon large raptor?
