This afternoon (Sunday) Jim Ryan and myself found an American Avocet on Emily Creek on the west side of Milan Highway 40 bridge across Lac qui Parle Lake in Lac qui Parle County. The bird had previously been reported by Jason Frank on Saturday during the Salt Lake Festival. Leaving the bridge we checked out the Englebritzon (or Engebretson?) boat launch just SE of the bridge and found a Louisiana Waterthrush, which was identified by field marks and call.
