Todd Mitchell and I spent the morning at Forestville walking the loop to the
north of the bridge through lowlands and up the ridge then back along the
river. Warblers were scarce other than numerous (>100) Yellow-rumps but only a
single palm otherwise. No vireos to be seen either. Best birds included an
singing lark sparrow in the burned over prairie grassland to the north east of
the road, a great horned owl being mobbed by robins and jays and a late fox
sparrow. House wrens were very vocal setting up territories. A pair of Eastern
Phoebes were nest building under the bridge. Complete list to be entered into
e-bird.
