5/13/17 Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge Bloomington Visitor Center Trailhead 8 - 11:00 am Field trip Report
The Warblers arrived right on time, with large numbers of them in the trees along the Hill Side trail. The group observed 18 species of Warblers and a Harris's and Clay-colored Sparrow there. Here are a few of the species observed by our group: Sora - Heard only Sandhill Crane - Heard only Chimney Swift Ruby-throated Hummingbird House Wren Red-headed Woodpecker Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Ruby-crowned Kinglet Swainson's Thrush Gray-cheeked Thrush Ovenbird, Northern Waterthrush, Golden-winged, Black-and-white, Tennessee, Nashville, Common Yellowthroat, American Redstart, Northern Parula, Magnolia, Bay-breasted, Yellow, Chestnut-sided, Palm, Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Green and Wilson's. Clay-colored Sparrow Harris's Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Baltimore Oriole Note a complete list of the birds observed on our walk can be found on the EBird Web site. Here are the dates of some upcoming MNWR bird walks. The walks begin at 8:00 am and there is no fee for the walk.
