Regarding the post about Urban Ospreys.....Twin Cities Metro Osprey Watch is
monitoring all known nests in the eight county metro area and in 2016 we had
122 occupied nests! So Ospreys are no longer an unusual sight here in the Twin
Cities. The population is growing and we need the birding publics help with
reporting new osprey nests to us so we can maintain an accurate tally of how
this reintroduced population is expanding. Please email us at [email protected]
with reports of new nests. Please dont assume that we know about it! We would
rather get repeated reports of nests we know about, than miss one we don't know
about! We also always need skilled birders with spotting scopes to help us
monitor all these nests. You can also learn more about Ospreys in the metro at
our Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/Twin-Cities-Metro-Osprey-Watch-218968924786696/?ref=hl
Or on our blog at ospreywatch.blogspot.com
You will find the annual report with all the numbers on both those sites,
posted earlier this year. Thanks for your help!!!
