At Rapids Lake MVNWR this morning, a Carolina Wren was located off trail about half-way between the short loop trail and the refuge boundary in the oldest growth area of that loop. I initially heard him singing his typical song repeatedly from the trail. In order to see him though I had to walk through up to chest-high vegetation. I found good numbers of 15 warbler species this morning with 15 warbler species at the arboretum and 10 at Rapids Lake. Other migrants seen were Olive-sided Flycatcher and Red-breasted Nuthatch at the arboretum and Olive-sided Flycatcher, Philadelphia Vireo, and Swainson's Thrush at Rapids Lake.
