On Wednesday , August 30, saw and heard a Merlin on the east edge of Seven Oaks Park, 1/2 block south of the intersection of 34th Street East and 47th Avenue South in South Minneapolis (4 blocks south of Lake Street just west of the Mississippi River), and also a Red-breasted Nuthatch by the same intersection. On Thursday, August 31, saw a Red-headed Woodpecker in the restored oak savanna east of the 36th Street parking lot by West River Road.
