I had a Pileated Woodpecker flying over Florida Creek, along County Rd 4, in
Yellow Medicine
County this afternoon, and filled out a RQD seeing as how they are considered
rare in the
western counties. They nested in the riverbottom woods on the northern and
western
outskirts of Gary SD last spring.

One thing, though... after filling out the RQD, it read: "Yellow Medicine SD."

The same thing happened when I reported the Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher last
summer.

So, I'd just like to give the heads-up to the record-folks, I don't know why
it's doing that. I
entered the lat/long coordinates for the sighting, so I don't know why it's
still doing that.

Thanks,

Jason Frank
