A few redpolls arrived here in Mendota Heights last week, and this morning
there were 50-75…one of my favorite winter birds !

Subject: [mou-net] Chanhassen Common Redpoll

My wife reported seeing a lone Common Redpoll at our feeders this afternoon.
First one of the year for us. We've also been fortunate enough for the second
consecutive winter to be hosting two male Northern Flickers overwintering in
the woods behind our home. I assume they must be siblings, since they very
often come in to our suet feeders and feed side by side. It's quite a beautiful
sight! We've also had visits from a Cooper's Hawk and a Great Horned Owl in
the last week.
