Temps in the 50s and 60s should start taking down the ice on lakes in time for the 21st annual Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds May 16-19. Featured presenters are Carrol Henderson with tales of his 45 years in the MN DNR and Noah Strycker's epic world big year in 2015 with more than 6000 bird species recorded! Friday and Saturday field trips to wetlands, forests and prairie. Wednesday evening festival kick-off at the Holmes Theatre with the show For the Birds featuring Kevin Kling and Zeitgeist.
