Near the wayside north of town: Still hundreds of scaup (looked like lesser when they fly), ring-necks, some canvasbacks, buffleheads, hooded mergansers.
duck highlight on Pepin: 24 Ruddy Ducks and 2 Eared Grebes Duck highlight at Hok-si-la About 20 wood duck drakes hanging out in the flooded forest a couple pairs of blue-winged teal 1 pied billed grebe. (And a bunch of unknowns when a car pulled in front of me and a guy got out in a very obvious fashion, slamming car doors, etc., brandishing binoculars and walking right up to the edge of the road and water and everyone else flew away.
