On Tuesday, an adult male SUMMER TANAGER showed up at my suet feeder in western
Polk County. He only appeared twice in about 1 hour and then I did not see him
again until this morning, when he returned to feed on grapes in my backyard. He
has been coming fairly regularly throughout the morning, perhaps due to the
chillier temps. Currently, his visits are spreading out a little longer in
between. No idea how long he might stay. Sounds like a first county record for
Polk from what I can tell.

Also on Tuesday, I had a Spotted x Eastern Towhee and he is still here, along
with an actual Eastern Towhee. I also have White-crowned, White-throated,
Harris’s, Lincoln’s, Clay-colored and Chipping Sparrows, Purple, House and
Goldfinches, a pair of Cardinals that has been here all winter and will likely
nest nearby somewhere, Baltimore Orioles, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, etc.
