The MRVAC Hok-si-lah (in Goodhue County) birding trip on Saturday
attracted over 20 participants for an awesome day with warblers dripping
from the trees and all kinds of surprises. Best birds included a surprise
Carolina Wren right by the parking lot, Great Horned Owlets, a Solitary
Sandpiper, a Red-head Woodpecker, and 20 species of warblers. We found some
65 species and added 9 more around Frontenac. I was logging a Big Day
Birdathon and recorded 101 species for the day with 13 more species at
180th Street and several more in transit.

The weather was just a touch on the cool side, but not windy. The leaves
were just coming out and flowers included violets, the last of bloodroot,
dutchman's britches, and the anemonies.
