My father Gary Otnes passed away at his home in rural Fergus Falls on the evening of May 22 nd . My father was active in Minnesota birding for many years. He was a rugged individualist who lived a full and adventurous life. His activities beyond his birding included wildlife rehabilitation, being a reserve Coast Guard pilot, hunting, fishing, and being a trophy winning marksman. He lived life on his own terms.
