I'm happy to report that at least one of the Sharp-Tailed Grouse that bred and nested at Mound Spring SNA is Yellow Medicine County has successfully hatched a brood. They crossed the road as I was driving by at 11:30 this morning.
There are also quite a few Hungarian Partridges there this year, though I haven't seen any chicks yet. A few days ago, I crossed paths with an Upland Sandpiper brood on 150th Ave about a mile west of CR 7 in Lac qui Parle County. -- Jason M.
