In the August gathering of the Minnesota "Global Birders" group, Jason Caddy will give a presentation on a visit to northern Ecuador. That area has about the highest concentration of bird species in the world, is easily accessible from the US, and has a good ecotourism infrastructure. His 9-day trip covered a transect from the Chocó region, up and over the Andes, and to the slopes of the Amazon basin -- and yielded 419 species.
