The Roseau River is currently low and, as such, provides a significant
amount of shoreline that is drawn down to mudflats. The portion of the
river that is located on Roseau River WMA is in Roseau County. Go to the
MNDNR website and look up the RRWMA visitor map to determine how to
access the river. The closest towns (to the south of RRWMA) are Badger
and Greenbush. Navigating the river at this time with watercraft is
probably limited to canoe/kayak; in places, foot travel may be the only
option. Dawn and dusk are the best times to view wildlife on the river, but
good opportunities may be had midday as well.
