Those in town now for Hawk Weekend might want to check Knife River and Two
Harbors. This morning Jim Lind and I saw a Whimbrel land on Knife Island which
flew off after a few minutes. A short time later an adult tern flew around over
the lake for several minutes near the island. It appeared to be an Arctic Tern
in all respects but it never came in quite close enough for a positive ID.

We then went to the main cemetery along Hwy 61 in Two Harbors where Jim spotted
a Eur Tree Sparrow near the dirt piles in the SE corner of the cemetery. We
lost sight of it after a few minutes but it may still be in that area. Also
present here were two early Bohemian Waxwings.
