To Scott, Pete, and the several Veterans Memorial Park birders encountered,

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! ... a life bird for me and one long-yearned 
for!
Found the VATH around noon on Saturday in a crab apple tree west of the 
memorial (west side of Portland... a private residence’s front yard...). 
Visible with a spotting scope from the memorial. I think it was a female.

I just found a Varied Thrush at Veterans. The bird was with a small flock
of American Robins. I found the bird on the walking path on the south side
of the park, but the flock flew north into the middle of Veterans. There
has been a large flock of Robins in the park this week and it probably can
be found in this group.
