The Mississippi River has finally broken open here in Houston County and tonight there is a MASS migration of waterfowl taking place. Tornadoes of birds filling the backwaters south of Reno and a steady stream of tens of thousands pouring upriver here before dusk. Full moon and a nice south breeze with very moderate temperatures this evening.

I'm thinking that it would be nice (and efficient) to be able to check imagery for open water on a periodic basis - obviously the approaching spring is getting me itchy to go and look for waterfowl, et al.
