Seen from the Roberts Creek bridge on 550th Ave. in NW Mower county. As it
happened a mature bald eagle was flying nearby and just a little higher than
the golden so I had them both in the binoculars at the same time. The
golden had the wide white band at the base of the tail, white areas in the
wings, and I could see the gold on the head and leading edges of the wings
when it turned into the sun. Those eagles were pretty low, maybe two or
three times treetop high. Also since I could see both eagles I could see
that the golden's head and bill were smaller and the overall sizes of the
two birds were similar.

There were a lot of raptors out there today. It was a lucky time to take a walk.
