Yesterday I saw what I identified as an individual solitary sandpiper in
Bredesen Park nature area. It was on the cleared bank of the pond near the
parking lot side entrance.
It was definitely smaller than a lesser yellowlegs with no spotting on the
front and no bobbing activity. It did have an eye ring. The back was brownish
and mottled with white bur not definitely spotted, grayish-brown chest, white
belly, and greenish legs. It flew off when I was looking elsewhere and I
couldn”’t see the rump.
Also one each of B&W, palm, waterthrush spp warblers, brown thrasher, 6 rk
kinglets, 25-30 YR Warblers, and a pair of copulating northern flickers.
