Alas, these birds may not be present anymore as I have not seen any recent reports. But here is the information I found and their respective posting locations:
A juvenile Sabine’s Gull was seen and photographed by at least two birders in Park Point (Duluth, St. Louis County) on September 30 and October 1. I learned of these observations through Minnesota Birding (a Facebook group). I did not see any reports of this on eBird’s rare bird alert. On September 28 and 29, a female-type Lark Bunting was seen by apparently 20+ birders at Paul Van Hoven Park (Two Harbors, Lake County). Despite the high number of observations, only 5 eBird reports were submitted (and I did not see any postings of this on Facebook). I am switching to receiving more sporadic rare eBird alert emails (to decrease inbox traffic), and I do not thoroughly comb through the many daily posts on Facebook’s Minnesota Birding. As such, future posts like these may be tardy. Fortunately, I have noticed others sharing information from Facebook on here, and I appreciate those who try to cover all the bases. Good birding! And envious from afar... Alyssa DeRubeis Montréal, QC ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
