Just received a call from Linda Sparling that the owl in Sax-Zim along CR 7 is
now on its way to The Raptor Center in St. Paul. It was noted to be in obvious
bad shape and not flying well so it was picked up and is now en route to St.
Paul. It was described as still alive but just barely so. The assumption is
that it was starving, resulting in its diurnal hunting activity which is
uncharacteristic of this species.

By the way, this owl was apparently first seen on January 1 and reported to the
Sax-Zim welcome center but I was told yesterday that the ID on Jan 1 was
tentative and unconfirmed.
