Bob Bergad sent this message on Saturday re. the Black Dog Trail and the Miss River Bottoms Trail, both of them open again to hikers and birders. He made a 30 mile bike ride. I think there is now a walker/biker trail on the 35 W bridge. Good for scenic views with or w/o birds on the river with connections to trails on both ends.
The message from MnDOT I sent on Friday about the 35W Miss River bridge morphed into a mess of alphanumeric multi-string codes. I will try again with this link for more info including sketchy map. It might do a repeat. https://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/i35wbloomington/? -----Original Message----- From: Robert Bergad [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, November 07, 2020 5:36 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Bike trail across 35 Hi Gordon, The link attached to your message does not work. Regardless, I cycled from South Minneapolis through Richfield and Bloomington until I reached the MN river at the southern end of Lyndale Ave. The bike path to the river crosssing is complete and links up nicely with the Black Dog bike trail. For me it was a nice 30 mile ride returning over the Cedar Ave bridge, then across the 494 bridge and finally across the Mendota bridge to my starting point near Hiawatha Park.
