We have them year-round in Afton, they nest on our property.

On a fun note, the young ones are some of the friendliest fledgling birds I've
ever seen. Readily perch on me if I'm filling feeders. I've had to literally
brush them off our suet logs so I can refill the logs. Lasts about a week, lol,
but it sure is fun.

In chatting with others it seems they are fairly common in the summer w a
definite uptick in winter.

Hey Tom,
They are regular visitors in the winter months, at least in the Hastings area
in Dakota County.
