6 Cattle Egrets in breeding plumage just showed up at the foot of Big Stone Lake in Ortonville. They are feeding in the grass beside the lake along Dike Road (just west of the grocery store parking lot, where the river comes out of the lake). They were somewhat tolerant of traffic and photography, but big loud trucks made them a little jumpy.
