Hello, Regarding the perception of public access to the pond on North Hudson Road -- not all public land is accessible land. I regularly work in MnDOT right of way and on other types of city/county/state held parcels that have safety and access constraints. In this case the parcel contains a MnDOT drainage ditch. Further the mapping shared from the Washington County website is not accurate and a portion of what is mapped as MnDOT is indeed private land that has been reconveyed to the landowner.
For the sake of other birders who would like to view this location and the birds that it attracts, please continue to view the pond from the pull-off on Hudson Road and stay on the road side of the fence.
