This article in Earth.com summarizes a study published in Biology Letters.
Scientists from Penn State and ABC studied 13 spp over 20 years and compared
Robert MacArthur's study of niche partition of tree foliage and feeding
behavior, completed ~70 yrs ago. The new study includes genetic analysis of
insect diets which were very similar among bird spp ---which might be expected.
