I encountered 11 ibis on Danvers WMA in Swift County yesterday afternoon. They
flew up from the basin, circled back over the top of me and landed back in the
basin, but out of sight. While they were very close when they flew over, they
were backlit and all I got was silhouettes. At least one was croaking and
sounded clearly like a glossy. They were in the large cattail basin in the far
SE portion of the WMA. This specific area is relatively difficult to access
(1/2 mile hike through grass and stinging nettle). If you want the challenge
of relocating them, feel free to contact me for details.
