Hello all - The Towhee has been coming for 6 days straight now and was seen this morning. However, he did not show up Wednesday afternoon or after 10am Today (1/18/13) at the feeders. While the Towhee was not seen at the feeders today, he was spotted in his favorite brush pile at around 10am and was not seen for the rest of the day today. We have not been able to track down where he has been going when he is not coming to the feeders. Wednesday and today were pretty mild and the feeders were very slow. It looks like another semi mild day tomorrow so I am not sure if he will show tomorrow. I also wanted to say the Sunday is available as an option for the weekend birders hoping to see him (it looks to be colder that day as well). Otherwise next week is fine too if he is still around.
People are more than welcome to try to come and see the bird tomorrow if they wish. Drop me and email or call my cell phone 507-210-4685 if you think you might be stopping by. When you do get here pull in the driveway and walk around the right side of the house. You will see a glass "bird room" next to the feeders that you are welcome to use to view the bird. The bird has been feeding under the feeders and flying back and forth to a brush pile East of the feeders.
