A belated post regarding a Boreal Owl that was seen last evening (1/29) on the lakewalk between Fitgers Brewery complex and Leif Erikson Park. A co-worker was walking and another person alerted him to the small owl perched out in the open hunting. It was between 4 and 5 PM. He obtained a blurry but identifiable photo on his phone. I looked for the owl today during work with ice and snow removal on the lakewalk but did not relocate the bird. There a a few coniferous trees in the area so the bird could be hiding and come out in the evening to hunt.
