Friday afternoon, there were still 23 Buff-breasted Sandpipers at the Jirik Sod
Farms. They were observed just North of the Jirik sod farm office, which is on
the East side of Blaine Ave. The birds were moving quit a bit, during our
observation. Which was at 5:00 to 5:15 pm. The birds were first in the field
on the West side of the street and then were observed flying into the plowed
field on the East side of the street. A small flock was first observed which
was later joined by about a dozen more, for a total of 23. We watched them in
the plowed field for about 5 minutes and then they flew to the South. So if
you head out that way, make sure to scan all of the fields.
