Does anyone know what the state of play with QHTL (http://www2.info.ucl.ac.be/people/ned/qhtml/) is at the moment?

Well this project has been left untouched for a couple of years now... QHTML was working mostly ok with IE, but at the time couldn't port it to work with other browsers. Also its functionality is rather limited as a toolkit.

I hadn't even _heard_ of it until I accidentally stumbled on a presentation by PvR (www.cetic.be/moz2004/talks/QHTML.ppt) while looking into AJAX. It is not listed among the "Projects" on the mozart-oz Web site.
I tried to e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] but mail got bounced.

That's weird I'm still using this email address.

BTW, QHTML is a QTk-like interface that runs in the Browser, while all the computation gets done server-side. Properly done, it should give the AJAX style a run for its money, if not blowing it right out of the water. AJAX is getting some attention these days because of "Google Maps" and similar applications. Could QHTML be a diamond-in-the-rough?

I will probably get back to it in a couple of months, hopefully it won't be delayed forever. Also I'll probably change the communication mechanism to get rid of the Java applet layer, and instead use the AJAX trick of xml request. That would make QTHML an AJAX-style application, presenting itself as a graphical toolkit to the Oz developper.

Cheers,
Donatien
