                       Call for Participation

                             FoIKS 2006
                 The Fourth International Symposium
on the Foundations of Information and Knowledge Systems
                         Budapest, Hungary
                        14-17 February 2006

The goal of the FoIKS symposia, which take place once every two years,
is to bring together researchers working on the theoretical
foundations of information and knowledge systems as well as to attract
researchers working in mathematical fields such as discrete
mathematics, combinatorics, logics and finite model theory who are
interested in applying their theories to research on database and
knowledge base theory.

The symposium is intended to be a forum for intensive discussions.
For this reason there are time slots for long and for short
contributions. The long contributions, each allocated a time slot of
70 minutes, are significantly longer than usual contributions at
conferences. This year, the scientific program consists of 14 regular
papers and three short papers, as well an invited talk.

Further information on the program, as well as information on
registration, accommodation, and travel, may be found on the web site
of the symposium:
